Gazaro can help you find all of the best deals, but there are also ways to save even more. One way is using online coupon codes. Where can you find coupon codes? Here are two examples.

When browsing the website of electronics retailer Abt, I saw this on their page near the bottom of the page:

You can get a 5% off coupon, just for signing up for the Abt newsletter! This was good news because I was about to buy this cool Sony 9″ Portable DVD Player (it’s red!) for $155. With 5% off of the already 18% off discount Gazaro found, this new DVD Player is now even more affordable – only $147.25 (23% off!).

Another way to find an online coupon codes would be to search Twitter or Google. I was thinking about picking up this LG 47″ LCD HDTV for $1,000 from NewEgg. Before checking out, I loaded up Twitter and searched for “NewEgg coupon code” and up popped a number of tweets mentioning the code “MEMKBOUFEB10″ for 10% off. This amazing 41% off deal that Gazaro found just became 51% off – for a savings of $800!

Coupon codes are often issued by retailers for a limited time only – so make sure you check the expiry date on them if you can find one. Another thing to watch out for is whether the code can be used only once per person, one time only, and as many times until expiry. There are a number of great websites that aggregate user submitted coupons, but the most efficient way to find them is by searching on Google or Twitter for “(store name) coupon code”. Keep an eye out for these codes, a common one is a coupon for Free Shipping.

Using Gazaro and coupons you can save even more on those big purchases. Make sure to check back on Gazaro regularly to keep an eye on the latest deals and subscribe to the blog for some more money saving tips!

  • I just noticed this to…then I noticed that all my coupons were expired (1/31, 12/31) At first I thought it must be one coupon, one mistake, but they were all like that. Then Irealize that the mag that I got was Nov/Dec’s issue!!! I”m not sure how this happened but I was pretty sad since it had some great Q’s in it!. Bummer. I can’t complain much since I got it free!

Great suggestion re coupon codes! I've used them a number of times on Amazon.ca.

If a web search and Twitter search are the best places to look (sometimes fanning their Facebook page gets you access to coupon codes, too), please consider incorporating web and Twitter "coupon code" search results into Gazaro so people can explore the aggregate savings from within your web/mobile app. Gazaro's #2 or #3 top find might end up being the best value after a valid coupon code is applied. I'm sure it sounds easier than it is to return useful and comprehensive results, but consider it. All the best!
  • Thanks for the suggestion Beaverhyde - sounds like a good idea!
