Where do the hottest new start-ups (such as ourselves!) spend their Monday nights? In the best nightclubs, of course. ;)

Ok, so that’s a tinsy bit of a misnomer, since the Ottawa-based club we visited on Monday doubled as the location for DemoCamp 10 and we were one of the six participants (the others being Sixtent, FixIt Ottawa, ThinTeknix, GiftMyList and Chide.it).

The Gazaro team strikes a pose at Ottawa's Velvet Room nightclub, the location of DemoCamp 10.

DemoCamp, an entrepreneur/tech/ideas event, has been described as an “un-conference”, due to its unique format: presenters have 5 minutes to demo with the goal of engaging and educating the audience, without making a sales pitch. Despite the casual atmosphere, DemoCamp remains an important social networking event.

Although individual members of the team have attended past DemoCamps, this was the first time that Gazaro participated and we were able to get some great feedback. In particular, attendees were interested in the price history feature on the Gazaro website, an application which monitors price variation of each product over a period of time.

It also gave us the chance to make a few announcements, including our BETA launch date : mid-October (you can sign up for an invite here).

If you made it to DemoCamp 10, we’d love to hear what you thought! For those who haven’t been to one of these events, check out the location for the next DemoCamp. You’re in for a treat.

I really enjoyed your demo and am looking forward to product support for Canadian retailers. Good luck with your beta.
